Mission Statement
Adel Wesleyan Church exists to provide a Bible-based, Christ-centered place of worship so that people will come to know Jesus Christ. To be a church that lives by faith, is known by love, and is a voice of hope in the world.
History of our Church
The Adel Methodist Church was founded, according to the first and second quarterly conference held in 1889, around the time of Fall or Winter of 1888.

The first record found mentioning Adel in the minutes was during conference held on March 3, 1888.

At this time, services were being held in a saw mill shanty that was donated by the lumber yard.

In 1889 the land for the current church was purchased and resurrection of the original portion of the building was started.

In the spring of 1968, the Adel Methodist church joined the United Methodist conference becoming the Adel United Methodist Church.

Over the years, the church was added onto two more times to accommodate more Sunday school rooms, a nursery, fellowship hall, and kitchen. Later outside buildings were built and are now used as youth and children rooms, along with a large playground.

In June of 2022, the Adel United Methodist Church voted to disaffiliate from the United Methodist group. Since that date, we have changed our name to Adel Wesleyan Church and are thriving as an independent church.

In February 2023, we voted in our first official pastor of Adel Wesleyan church and he will begin on April 2, 2023 to join us in celebration of the Easter season and a rebirth of our church.
